Troubled by pressing localized issues, the "Avenue" community flocked in great numbers to express their concerns to the candidates running for Ventura City Council during a lively candidate forum on Sept. 28, 2011. The forum is the first one of its kind in 7 years for the usually non-political community of Hispanics, artists, and youth.
